Season Four · Working edition

Build a hero
for Corvania.

Create at level 1, submit a typed sheet for approval, then advance the approved character to level 3 before your first game.

01 · Before you begin

Create at level 1.

The approval copy of your character must be typed and readable. You are welcome to use a handwritten sheet at the table, but the version submitted for review must be digital or typed.

Using something other than D&D Beyond?

List the book name and page number for every character option you select. Ask in #character-approval if your platform handles an option differently.

This is a working conversion of the Season 4 PDF. The guild expects a later corrections pass; until then, ask an Administrator in Discord whenever a rule is unclear.

02 · Content rules

Use current, approved sources.

Use options from the current Core Rules and Expanded Rules where the guide permits them. Avoid anything marked Legacy, Partnered Content, and Wizards of the Coast books released after December 9, 2025. Eberron: Forge of the Artificer is the final included release for this season.

If an option has been reprinted under the same name, use the current version rather than the Legacy version.

03 · Season 4 restrictions

The current ban list.

DragonmarksAll dragonmark feats and species options, including relevant Eberron material.
Custom LineageThe species option from Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything.
Circle of the ShepherdThe pre-2024 druid subclass.
Pre-2024 backgroundsUse a current background or a properly created 2024 custom background.
Partnered contentThird-party partnered options are not legal for guild characters.
Legacy reprintsIf the same option name was reprinted, the older Legacy version is not legal.

Banned spells

  • Homunculus Servant
  • Warp Sense
  • Animate Dead
  • Gate Seal
  • Create Spelljamming Helm
  • Planar Binding
  • Reincarnate
  • Teleportation Circle
04 · D&D Beyond

Set up the builder carefully.

  1. Enable the character preferences required by the guild, including optional features, prerequisites, and shareable character privacy.
  2. For class selection, use eligible current Core Rules and Expanded Rules options. Do not choose options from the 2014 or 2024 Core Rules headers the PDF marks as excluded.
  3. For spellcasting classes, choose available non-Legacy spells, then check the specific banned-spell list above.
  4. Keep the character at level 1 until an Administrator approves the submitted sheet.
05 · Background

Current background or approved custom build.

Select an eligible background from the current Core or Expanded sections. Do not choose the old “Custom Background” entry—it is the 2014 version.

For a custom background, enable homebrew and create a homebrew background using an eligible current background as the template. Choose the appropriate ability scores, origin feat, two skill proficiencies, one tool proficiency, and equipment package under the current background rules.

Tell the approver.

If you create a custom background, say so explicitly in your approval post.

06 · Species & ability scores

No Legacy species. No Custom Lineage.

Eligible current and older species may be used unless they carry the Legacy tag or appear on the ban list. Custom Lineage remains prohibited even when it is not marked Legacy.

Use either Standard Array or Point Buy. A screenshot of your Point Buy—with the background increases visible—helps the approval team review your build faster.

07 · Equipment

Choose class gear or visit the guild shop.

You may take your class equipment or skip it and equip the character from the free gear in the guild shop. Characters begin with 0 gold, even when a class or background would normally include starting currency.

08 · Final checklist

Get approved before you play.

  1. Finish a typed level 1 sheet and make the share link accessible.
  2. Include source book and page references if you are not using D&D Beyond.
  3. Include Point Buy evidence when possible and identify any custom background.
  4. Post the sheet link in #character-approval and wait for an Administrator to approve it.
  5. After approval, advance the character to level 3. The character begins the season at 0 XP and 0 gold.
